HOW TO APPLY


To help us create an unbiased application  process, please submit TWO separate PDFs: 


 

1) A file containing your resume/CV (including your contact information) and a tentative project title. (Please know this does not have to be the title of the piece you are working on—it just serves as a way for us to connect the project proposal to the person who wrote it.) 


 

2) A PDF in which you respond to each of the following prompts in a few sentences: 


• Tell us about yourself. How do you self-define as an artist right now? As a person? 


• What is a seedling of an idea for a piece that you want to explore? 


• What about this retreat makes it an appealing environment to explore this idea? 


• What resources would be helpful for you to have access to? (Could be “19 dancers”, 
“a really talented lighting designer”, “a trombone”, “a protein-rich breakfast”). 


• How would you hope to make use of concentrated time at a residency? 


 

Answers to the above questions should not exceed 2 pages. Please label both PDFs with your Project Title, not your name. 


 

Please submit these two files to HatchAtSchoolhouse@gmail.com by 11pm on January 15, 2018. 
You will receive an email that we received your submission.

 

Finalists may be contacted for further conversation. Applications will be reviewed by a panel made up of artists based in Philadelphia and Harrisville.
